A Conversation with Marcel Marceau



Turns out he is something of a windbag. Tom gets
trapped
in a glass elevator with him and he won't shut up.

Marceau says "Here, I give you an example. Take the
Seven Deadly Sins.
You have anger, lust, pride, how do you call it,
eating too much?"

Tom says "uh, uh, um, uh overeating, uh gourmet, I
mean gluttony…"

Marceau says "Yes, exactly, but why isn't lying one of
the Seven Deadly Sins?"

Tom says "Um, uh,, um lying isn't as bad a sin as, no,
there's no reason why
lying isn't one of the Seven Deadly Sins…"


Marceau says "Lying isn't one of the Seven Deadly Sins
because everyone lies!"

And the glass elevator gets moving again, up, up, and
Tom
starts jumping around in it, wondering if it's going
to explode
through the ceiling of the building and take him and
Marcel Marceau
on a magical journey into the upper reaches of the
universe,
but he hopes not, he just wants to go home where it's
quiet
